Crochet Coral at the Powerhouse

As part of Science Week, In Stitches present a crochet coral reef at the Powerhouse Museum. Wonder over the intricacies of the crocheted coral hyperbolic reef. You can also learn to crochet a piece of reef and add it to the installation.

In Stitches is a collaboration between artists Michaela Davies, Charlotte Haywood and Claire Conroy.

Decadence

Steven Berkoff's Decadence is a brilliantly entertaining satire of the English class system. With merciless style and wit, Berkoff tells the stories of upper class Steve and Helen (who live a life of carefree indulgence) and working class Les and Sybil (desperately trapped by their working class values).

By popular demand, this rarely performed Berkoff classic hits Sydney's independent arts hub the Tap Gallery for one week only.

After a massive audience response last December, the cast and crew have re-united for a hit and run revival season in July, with further dates touring a-la-carte later in the year.

Balkan & Gypsy Music this Sunday Night

This Sunday night dance the winter away to one of the best live Balkan and Gypsy bands in Australia, Nadya and 101 Candles. If anyone has seen this band live they will know what I am talking about!

Featuring a swag of great musicians, including Edouard Bronson from Monsieur Camembert, Anatoli Torjinski on cello, and for their first time together, the amazing Bobby Singh on tabla. This will be a night of truly gorgeous Balkan and Gypsy music, performed with incredible passion, charisma and style – so don’t miss it!

How Much: The admission cost by donation (to the performers and the space) is $30, concession is $20, & $15 for kids under 16.

Alpha House Art Gallery is looking for art and craft donations for a fundraising auction on Saturday the 20th June. Proceeds will go towards art supplies for an art program for children in Cusco, Peru. The program is being taught by Lee from Alpha House.

There will also be lots of local art for sale, food and drinks, not to mention the lovely company of the Alpha House people and other local artists, so come along.
